
Welcome Imam Daniel Abdullah Hernandez
With the help of Allah and your unyielding support, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Imam Daniel Abdullah Hernandez as the Imam and director of religious affairs of the Muslim Association of Lehigh Valley (MALV). He came to us highly recommended from the scholars that know him, his previous communities and his references. Additionally, the overwhelming support and positive feedbacks we received from the community made the choice very easy.
Imam Daniel was born and raised in Queens, New York which gives him the unique ability to understand the challenges of Muslims living in America. He is a revert to Islam which gives him a different perspective, additionally, he experienced some of the challenges of youths in this country which gives him a unique advantage to easily relate with our youths.
Imam Daniel has many years of experience serving as imam in the USA including: Islamic Society of Triplex and Pearland Islamic Center where he served for the past eight years as the Imam. Prior to his career as an Imam, he has served as Islamic school teacher and principal.
Imam Daniel has a bachelor and masters degrees covering Arabic Language and Literature, Theology, Jurisprudence & Usool Fiqh, Uloom Quran, Mustalah Hadith from the Islamic University of Minnesota. He also has a certificate in Islamic Studies from the Al Azhar University in Cairo. In addition, he is currently pursuing a PhD degree in Islamic studies.
Imam Daniel brings years of experience in community building, outreach, youth development and teaching the core of our Deen. He is a dynamic, energetic and very humble Imam with a great wealth of knowledge. We look forward to working with Imam Daniel, and we wish him the very best as he takes on the responsibility of leading our MALV community. Please welcome Imam Daniel and his family to our community as he joins us on July 15th, 2021 In Sha Allah.
Our special thanks to the Imam Search Committee who never gave up despite many challenges along the way. The genuine efforts they have put in and due-diligence are unprecedented.
