A. Curriculum at MALVIS: Students are required to memorize 5 new suras in addition to what they know already. We spend a few weeks w/ the students first to refresh what they know already then we work w/ them on the new suras. The teacher reads and explains in the classroom. Students w/ the help of parents need to memorize at home. This a great area for parents to help as TAs.
B. How fast can you read the entire Quran at home during the academic year:
Students are required to READ the entire quran at home and on a regular basis and compete on how how fast they can finish READING the Quarn. Students must bring a piece of paper signed by the parent to state the number of pages (suras and ayas) he/she read everyday or week. Teacher will keep record of the progress and who gets to the end line first, followed by second, third, fourth, . . . ..etc. Winners will be announced at the end of the yr (possibly at the graduation ceremony w/ prizes).
Start When: Yesterday.
C. Participate in the Ramadan Quran contest that we will be held this coming Sunday after school. Students will be required to recite what they memorize already. Levels will be categorized based on the numbers of Surah. Winners will be announced w/ prizes on the Eid dinner. While we encourage all students to engage but this one is an option.
Parents are encouraged to take part in these activities by helping their children read the quran and communicate with school.
