Listen to Imam Sirraj appeal towards the MALV expansion project
The Muslim Association of Lehigh Valley (MALV) represents a multi ethnic and vibrant community of Muslims residing in the Lehigh Valley area in Pennsylvania. Our community center is a 14000 sq. feet building on a 7 acres of land which includes a mosque, library, full-time elementary school and weekend Islamic school.
In August 2004, we started our full-time elementary school, the Manarah Islamic Academy (MIA), with 14 students and three teachers in pre-kindergarten through first grade. Over the years, the school has steadily grown to its current size of about 130 students in pre-school through fifth grade. In addition to the full-time school, we now have about 350 students in our weekend Islamic school. And a growing Hifz program. Alhamdulilah!
The growth of our community has been a great virtue; however, it has also come with many challenges. Our facilities have now reached its maximum capacity and in most cases, in-adequate to meet our religious, educational, and social needs. We now conduct six classes for our weekend school in the prayer hall, lobby and social hall. These environments are not appropriate for learning and we believe that our children deserve more. In addition, the facility we currently use for our fulltime school was not designed as a school from startup and lacks basic facility such as Science laboratory, library, school gym and cafeteria.
It is the realization of these needs that triggered the lunching of a $4.5miilion expansion project to expand our facility in order to achieve our vision of pioneering a nationally recognized Islamic educational institution that strives to prepare competent leaders, scientists, and professionals. Alhamdulilah, the first phase of the project is complete with all the external works. Our next phase is to commence the completion of the the first sets of classrooms in the first floor of the building and the completion of the gym. This phase is estimated to cost $1.3million. You can see the breakdown of our plan to raise the money from this presentation

Recognizing that our community cannot finance this project by ourselves, we are soliciting your help for the sake of Allah in helping us make this project a reality. “Those who spend their possessions (for the sake of God) by night and by day, secretly and openly, shall have their reward with their Sustainer; and no fear need they have, and neither shall they grieve.” (2:274). There are many ways that you can help us make this project a reality:
a. Donate generously in proportion to your financial ability. No amount is too small
b. Sponsor a classroom or laboratory and it will be named after you or you’re designate. Click here for addition item that you can donate
c. Give a Qurza-E-Hasana (Interest free loan)
d. Help us to spread the message to your friends and family.
e. Remember us in your dua.
We hope that you will support our effort in making this project a success. There is no doubt; whatever you spend towards the education of a Muslim child is an investment with a guaranteed return from Allah SWT. The Prophet (SAW) told us, when a person dies, his works end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him. [Muslim, Tirmidhi, and others].
In sha Allah, the project is progressing and we hope to open the school soon. However, we are still in need of $2.5 Million to make this dream a reality. We request that you make a tax-deductable donation towards this project and we pray that Allah accept it as sadaqat al-jariya from you.
