Children Education Program (Sunday School)

MALV SUNDAY SCHOOL is pleased to offer your children the opportunity to learn how to read and write Arabic, recite the Quran with proper pronunciation, learn and practice fundamental Islamic teachings and noble Islamic manners in a warm and encouraging environment. The classes are conducted every Sunday morning at the MALV premises. The teachers are volunteers at the mosque who have been carefully picked and have a reasonable experience teaching Arabic, Islamic principles, Quran reading and memorization for children aged 6 to 14 years old. The Sunday school is blessed to have a unique mix of teachers, some with years of experience whilst others young and dynamic with new and innovative ideas.

Islamic studies
Level 1: Students learn the basic values of Islam in lessons 1 through 15 in the popular We are Muslims Textbook and Workbook: Grade 1 from Iqra Publications.  
Level 2: Students learn the basic manners required of a Muslim in lessons 16 through 30  in the popular We are Muslims Textbook and Workbook: Grade 1 from Iqra Publications.  
Level 3: Students learn the basic manners required of a Muslim in lessons 16 through 30  in the popular We are Muslims Textbook and Workbook: Grade 1 from Iqra Publications.  There will be an emphasis to learn how to deal with real world issues such as dealing with prejudice, accepting one’s self and accepting religious diversity using the Peace Generation booklets
Level 4: Students learn the importance and value of worshiping and how to apply and practice Islamic values and manners in lessons 1 through 15 in the popular We are Muslims Textbook and Workbook: Grade 3 from Iqra Publications.  There will be an emphasis to learn how to deal with real world issues such as dealing with conflict, understanding the importance of diversity and Prophetic qualities such as forgiveness using the Peace Generation booklets   The 40 Hadith for Schools Part 1 will be used to help students memorize short hadiths in Arabic and understand the principles of the hadiths.
Level 5: Students learn the importance and value of worshiping and how to apply Islamic values and manners in lessons 16 through 30 in the popular We are Muslims Textbook and Workbook: Grade 3 from Iqra Publications. The 40 Hadith for Schools Part 1 will be used to help students memorize short hadiths in Arabic and understand the principles of the hadiths.  
 
Student Progress Assessment
Students will be assessed by twice a year at the end of Fall Semester and Spring semester. The parents will receive report cards at the end of each semester as a method of feedback on the progress on the performance of the student during the academic year.
